• Express Entry Profile: Must have an active Express Entry profile.

• Invitation: Must receive a Notification of Interest (NOI) letter from the Alberta government.
This stream is for experienced farmers who have the financial resources and farm management experience to purchase and establish a farm in Alberta.
• Farm Management Experience: Must prove prior farm management experience.
• Financial Resources: Must demonstrate the ability to invest a minimum of CAD 500,000 in a primary production farming business in Alberta.
• Business Plan: A detailed business plan showing the proposed farming enterprise in Alberta.
• Farm Visits: May be required to visit Alberta to discuss the business plan.
This stream targets international graduates from Alberta post-secondary institutions who wish to establish or operate a business in Alberta.
• Education: Must have completed at least two years of full-time study from an Alberta post-secondary institution.
• Post-Graduate Work Permit: Must hold a valid post-graduate work permit.
• Business Experience: Must have at least 6 months of full-time work experience managing or owning a business in Alberta.

• Education: Must have completed a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution outside Canada within the last 2 years.

• Ownership: Must own at least 34% of the business if it is located in an urban area or at least 51% if located in a rural area.

• The AINP will review your application. You may be invited for an interview to discuss your credentials and plans.
• If approved, you will receive a nomination certificate, which you can use to apply for permanent residence through IRCC.
• Submit your application for permanent residence to IRCC, including your nomination certificate and required documents.
• If approved, you will receive your permanent residence visa. Upon arrival in Canada, you will officially become a permanent resident of Alberta.
